The 12 Apostles limestone stacks, off the coast between Princetown & Peterborough in the Port Campbell National Park are arguably the most famous & most beautiful site on the Great Ocean Road. Those massive limestone rock formations rise up from the waves and tower above the sea. Caused by erosion from centuries of wild weather, these impressive edifices will leave you spellbound as will the natural beauty of this dramatic, spectacular coast ! Monument Valley @ West & East Mitten & Merrick Butte
Sitting quietly on a smooth sandstone ledge staring at this centuries old site and absorbing the afternoon sun, I understood how the Navajo people felt a thousand years ago… completely at peace. Personally this was the highlight of my journey through all the National Parks.
El Calafate @ Glaciers National Park
Perito Moreno is 250km2 glacier with a length of 30km and is located in the Santa Cruz province about 80km from El Calafate. After a 1h20 bus ride, we took a ferry in the port of ‘Bajas las Sombras’ for about 15 minutes crossing Rico Lake. In the shelter, our guide Mario took us for a short hike through the forest to the glacier’s south side where he gave us some crampons to attach around our shoes for the ice-trek. Once everyone was set, we started to walk cautiously on the ice. What an incredible experience to walk on this huge mass of ice through cracks, seracs, streams, blue lagoons & crevasses offering us spectacular views all around as well. Just unique…

On the shores of Lake Tekapo I found the Church of the Good Shepherd, built in 1935 as a memorial to the pioneers of the Mackenzie county. Congregations worship regularly in the church, which offers awe inspiring views of the lake and mountains through the altar window. I stayed in Lake Tekapo till sunset…
The Amphitheatre @ Valle de la Luna
The Great Sand Dune, formed by the accumulation of sand, prompted by natural barriers which constituted the base of the dunes. Finally we reached The Amphitheatre. The Cordillera de la Sal was formed by the horizontal accumulation of thin layers of materials such as sand, clay & salt which were subsequently destroyed by movements in earth’s crust. The actions of wind & water upon this geographical formations have created a sequence of peaks, similar in outline to the bellows of a accordion.

We met 3 lovely local ladies, Thi, Lanh & Chinh. Lanh & Chinh were older women who sat with us, at first to sell us their stuff but it became quickly a really nice conversation & we had such great laughs about the simplest things in life!

Beautiful scenic area with many villages on the way. The waterfall & the lagoons where emerald blue and the whole area gave us a really nice spectacle. The area sheltered also some bears.
Angel's Landing @ Zion National Park
This rock previously known as ‘Temple of Aeolus’ is a 454m high rock formation. The trail start gently at the Zion Lodge and wind its way through the main canyon, with its emerald pools, Virgin river, wooded valley & open desert.
